The Technology Talks Austria, which will take place this year on September 12th and 13th in Vienna's Museumsquartier, is the most relevant technology conference for Austria as a research, technology and innovation location (FTI) with European visibility. The key theme for 2024 is the role of FTI in the "Triple Transition” – the simultaneous ecological and digital transformation that should be humane.
The Technology Talks Austria are organized by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in close cooperation with the Federal Ministries for Climate Protection (BMK), Education (BMBWF) and Economy (BMAW), the Industrial Association (IV) and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
ESBS-Austria is represented with the "Technology 4 Resilience” workshop as follows:
In Europe, within the triple transition (green, digital, social) technology will play a major role. Disruptive global political trends influence industry and technology. This requests a radical change of the electronics and software eco-systems.
- How should we shape our technology eco-systems considering the balance of green, digital and human needs as well as competitiveness?
- What is necessary to bring Europe back to a leading technology position (in hardware as well as in software)
- How do we enable software made in Europe and how to create the according ecosystems?
These questions will be discussed by Thomas Skordas, DG Connect, European Commission, Jörg Strauss, ams-OSRAM, Christa Schlager, AK Vienna, and Detlef Zerfowski, ETAS, and moderated by
Stefan Rohringer, Chair ESBS-Austria, Infineon Technologies.
