DK Electronics GmbH & CO OG (previousely EPCOS OHG) is part of the TDK Group - a leading electronics company based in Tokyo, Japan. TDK Electronics in Deutschlandsberg employs round 950 people and it is the competence center for ceramic components of the Piezo and Protection Devices Business Group.
The TDK portfolio includes electronic components, modules and systems, power supplies, magnetic application products as well as energy devices, flash memory application devices, and others. TDK focuses on demanding markets in the areas of information and communication technology and consumer, automotive and industrial electronics.
Deutschlandsberg is the largest European TDK site with more than 70,000 square meters. The spectrum of the products developed and manufactured here extends from piezo actuators, multilayer varistors and sensors to multilayer ceramic modules.
A milestone in the history of the Deutschlandsberg site was the foundation of the European R&D Center by TDK in 2016, which deals with the application and system development for the entire TDK Electronics Group. Deutschlandsberg also hosts the Process Innovation Center. It supports robotics, new production technologies and Industry 4.0 topics within TDK Electronics worldwide.
Role and Key Contribution
TDK Electronics GmbH & Co OG provides
- High-tech electroceramic components: piezo actuators and sensors, multilayer varistors for overvoltage protection, temperature sensors, PTC thermistors for heating, sensing and overload protection, ceramic ripple suppressors, microwave ceramic components.
- Multilayer ceramic modules and substrates in LTCC technology: highly integrated RF frontend modules, LED substrates, integrated radar antennas.
- High level of competence and experience in application-oriented design and development of devices, in materials and process development, and in production engineering.
